On Saturday, November 12th, Redemption Hill Church will kick off The Green Room series by going to the Richmond Symphony Orchestra concert that evening. We will begin the evening with a dessert and coffee gathering where we preview and discuss the concert, then conclude by going to the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage to hear the Richmond Symphony Orchestra perform. The program that evening will include:

Rossini (1792-1868)     Overture to The Barber of Seville
     Poulenc (1899-1963)     Gloria
Ravel (1875-1937)      Piano Concerto in G Major
Stravinsky (1882-1971)     Jeu de Cartes (Game of Cards)

The guest pianist for the evening will be Anton Nel, and you can read more about him on his website here.

Tickets will be $30 each, and $50 per couple. This price includes a $28 ticket (30% off the regular price) and a dessert and coffee gathering before the concert. If you are looking for a date night out with your spouse, or significant other, this will be a great opportunity, as you will not only hear some great music performed by our local symphony, but will have the chance to hear more about each composer and piece featured on the concert, and how it relates to the gospel.

A limited number of tickets are available for this event, so please RSVP if you intend to go. In order to confirm your reservation, we will need to receive your payment by no later than Wednesday, November 9. Checks can be made out to “Redemption Hill Church,” and all checks and monies can either be given to Shelby Murphy on Sunday morning, or snail mailed to:

Thanks again for signing up everyone! We will plan on meeting at the new RH office building (400 West 32nd Street) at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) night. We will have some coffee and desserts on hand for everyone, and then @6:30 I will introduce all of the music that you will hear at the Symphony tomorrow evening. Around 7:15, we will pack up and head on over to CenterStage.

Street parking will be available around CenterStage, but if you feel safer parking in one of the surrounding lots, you may want to bring some $$$. Here is a link to the parking situation around Centerstage.

I have everyone’s tickets, and will pass them out when I see you tomorrow night. There are still some extra tickets left, so please encourage your friends to come with you.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
